Buy a YAK for CHRISTMAS !
Thank you for the donations to buy Yaks for Christmas presents with the proceeds going to the Tibetan Children for their health and education.
We had many of you ask for more information on the Yaks and its importance to the Tibetan people and Tibetan culture.
The Yak is considered a sacred animal unique to Tibetan Culture. They have a strong, spiritual energy, and can survive the most harshest of climates. They are revered as a caring animal as they give so much to the families and people of Tibet. They provide milk, which can be made into butter and cheese which are all a staple part of the diet of Tibetans. Their wool - the rough wool provides shelter to make Yurts and blankets for the nomadic culture of many Tibetans. The soft wool is used to make shawls and jumpers. They are also used for transportation and carrying goods.
They live for 30-40 years, and provide a true gift to the families or people who own one. It is considered bad karma to kill a Yak so they are revered and need to be protected so that they can multiply, help the Tibetan people and preserve the Tibetan culture.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity to give a donation that truly positively impacts on the everyday life of the Tibetan people and culture.
To purchase a yak, make a $50 deposit into :
